Two artists that im very much waiting on to drop albums have a win and a loss this week.

Loss. Nas's attempt to successfully name his 9th studio album "Nigger" is just not going to happen. No matter what Def Jam said in the past they were never going to let him do it. Nas had this to say:
“It’s important to me that this album gets to the fans,” the rapper says. “It’s been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It’s that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it.”

July 1st the "untitled" album drops.

Win.Well kind of for Saigon. He has successfully parted ways with Atlantic Records who he has cited since '05 as the reason why he still hasn't dropped his debut "The Greatest Story Never Told". Drop dates have come and gone for this album so hopefully now that he is a free agent we are going to see Saigon and Just Blaze drop a classic. check these from the album:

C'mon Baby.

Provider X NB1500

Saturday the exclusive collaboration between Melbourne's boutique streetwear/footware store Provider and New Balance dropped. The custom NB1500 features very simple blue, grey and black colorway along with the soft suede upper. Usually i would have been all over this shoe but as im going overseas in less then 9weeks i couldn't afford to drop the asking price.

Being a very limited drop it caused a camp out @ Provider's store in Manchester lane. The poor people battled Melbourne's cold rainy night as they set their sites on a pair.Making the decision to pass on these ment i didnt have to freeze but i would of happily done it for a pair. Check out this video of the line just before Provider opened there doors at 10am on Saturday.

More news from the Chef. I found out that Raekwon is going to preform his classic debut album Only Built For Cuban Linx in its ENTIRETY in London. Of course he cant do this without Ghostface Killa as he is on 12 of the albums 18 tracks. So the Chef got Ghost out there with him to make history as he preforms every track live for the first time ever. I have no interest in every really going to London but i would be there in a flash to see this. Throwback joints from the album:
Incarcerated Scarfaces
Ice Cream
Criminology

Some left field sequals were announced this week, they included "Point Break 2:The return of Gary Busee" or something similar and the more interesting one "S.Darko" a sequal to cult hit Donnie Darko. Now i enjoyed what i understood from this film and i was suprised writer/director Richard Kelly had decided to do a sequal, but then i found this:

"To set the record straight, here’s a few facts I’d like to share with you all - I haven’t read this script. I have absolutely no involvement with this production, nor will I ever be involved. I have no control over the rights from our original film, and neither I nor my producing partner Sean McKittrick stand to make any money from this film".

The sequel follows Donnie’s younger sister Samantha, 7yrs after his death. She sets off with a friend on a road trip to Hollywood when she starts to have visions. With Kelly not on board, i cant see this doing anything even close to the first film. it a shame they are going to tarnish Donnie Darko with this crap.

Raekwon the Chef (Wu-Tang) finally gives fans a taste of what they can expect from OBFCL2 the follow up to his classic debut album Only Built For Cuban Linx. This is long awaited by fans and me. The track called "The G hide" featuring who else but Ghostface Killah. Im enjoying this track but i find it hard for anything to stand up to Rae's debut.

i have been watching NZ rapper Savage(Dawnraid) climb the Itunes Charts with his track "Swing" that was included in the film "Knocked Up". With the new found fame he sold 100,000 downloads, signed a world wide deal with Universal and had "Swing" treated to a remix that features Soulja Boy. I dont know about that remix.
"Swing" currently sits at #14 on the HipHop itunes charts.

Bun B, one half of UGK, dropped the 1st single "Thats Gangsta" from upcoming album II Trill a couple weeks back and its slowly climbing to the top of my rotation list. the track ft. Sean Kingston on the hook & J.R. Rotem on the beat.

Also a video preview for N.E.R.D's new single "Everybody Nose" dropped today, its allright. But im totally down with the "Everybody Nose (Remix)".it ft's CRS and Pusha T (clipse). Pusha blows his collaborators away.

smart is the new gangster.
Yesterday was sunday, had a good lunch with dennis and then andrew came over and we went to see Iron Man.

I was very impressed, i would say its the best Marvel comic adaption film i have seen.Robert Downey Jr. did a great job playing Tony Starks & the supporting cast which included Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow & Jeff Bridges were very well casted too. director Jon Favreau lived up to the expectations i had for this film. Downey nailed his part and the talk of a Oscar is not far fetched at all.

Steven Seagal's micro part in Exective Decision is a running joke i have with some people. it always brings many laughs as Segal was used to sell this film even thou he is in it for like 10mins. Anyway andrew and I thought it was right i picked myself up a copy.
